Hollywood's first big-budget Bible-based film in 50 years, which debuts today, has drawn a seriously mixed reaction from both those who have screened the movie and from those who only know what we have read about it.
Paramount Pictures' Noah, with a budget of $130 million, the first big-budget biblical Hollywood blockbuster since the 1960's, has generated a heated debate regarding its flagrant departure from sound doctrine and from what the Bible actually says happened in the days of Noah. It will most certainly rile some for the complete omission of the name "God" from the dialogue, others for its numerous dramatic fabrications and still more for its heavy-handed ecological doomsday messages, which unmistakably mark it as a product of its time. In stark contrast, many will remember Mel Gibson's surprise blockbuster, The Passion of the Christ, which has since become the yard-stick of biblical movie success. With only a budget of $30 million, it grossed $612 million world-wide, unquestionably due to its attempts to be true to the Gospel.
You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. ― Deuteronomy 4:2It basically comes down to this: Hollywood’s Noah vs. what the Bible says about the Great Flood.
Those who are throwing their support behind the film are the same religious institutions who are declaring that Christians worship the same god as Islam, namely the Vatican, western emergent churches, and other religious institutions of the apostate Ecumenical Movement.
This raises serious questions, considering that the film takes deceptive liberties with the Bible account. First of all, it never mentions sin as the cause for divine judgment. Secondly, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie doesn’t mention God. In its entire 139-minute runtime, there is not one single mention of God. Thirdly, one critic who saw a screening of the film said that it erroneously portrays Noah as a "drunken psychopath." And last but certainly not least, another segment of movie goers are upset that the movie apparently has heavy environmental overtones, suggesting that the earth was flooded to destroy man who was destroying the earth with pollution and overpopulation.
The growing environmentalism phenomenon is not new to Hollywood, nor to governments and think tanks across the world. Agenda 21, Sustainable Development and Smart Growth―the products of the eugenics race hygiene pseudoscience―are all terms that are generating not only more focus, but more money in the hands of the few who stand to gain from such draconian measures.
"Sustainable Development has continued to evolve as that of protecting the world’s resources while its true agenda is to control the world’s resources." ― Joan Veon, Sustainable Development, Agenda 21 and Prince Charles, (August 13, 2004)The Council of the Club of Rome put it more bluntly in its 1991 report, The First Global Revolution, in which it stated:
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."This satanic philosophy is in stark contrast to the true reason God wiped the slate clean in the ancient world. All you have to do is read the Word of God. Genesis chapter 6 clearly defines the reason that God beheld the entire earth as corrupt, "for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth."
The Sons of God [b'nai Elohim] saw the daughters of men were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose . . . There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ― Genesis 6:2,4-5Yes, the divinely-inspired biblical account, written down by Moses in the Torah [the first 5 books of the Old Testament], is very clear and easy to understand. There can be no misinterpretation when one acknowledges that the Sons of God were the fallen angels who kept not their first estate, who were seduced by Satan to rebel against God and were ultimately banished to earth to test all of mankind and to make them evil.
It was they and their abominable offspring. the Nephilim, who were the mighty men which were of old, men of renown; the god-men of the ancient world who seduced mankind into all manner of sinfulness and wickedness; the angelic beings who are recorded in the manuscripts, hieroglyphs, mythologies and legends of every ancient culture as coming down from the stars and teaching men the secrets of sorcery, the magical arts, drugs, alchemy, science, astrology, idolatry, and sexual perversion.
Not only that, Noah was, according to Genesis 6:9 "perfect in his generations." Some modern translations have falsely interpreted this to mean that he was "blameless." No, the original Paleo-Hebrew text clarified the genetic purity of Noah and his family in this passage. And in their vengeance for being cast out of God's grace, the fallen ones were attempting to breed-out the perfect genetic creation of God, who made man in His image. Noah and his family had not intermarried with the fallen ones, and were thus pure and "perfect in their generations."
That is why Genesis chapter 6 is among the most misunderstood passages in Scripture, which has spawned major doctrinal error. In this author's opinion, if you don't understand what Genesis chapter 6 is really saying, then you can't possibly understand 90% of the rest of the Bible.
That is the real reason why God had to destroy the entire world with a flood, in order to save his direct creation from Satan's attempt to corrupt the line of men. If he was successful at breeding-out God's most beloved creation, then the prophesied Messiah couldn't possibly be born of the seed of Adam.
We also saw this house-cleaning taking place elsewhere, when God commanded the Isralites to go and completely destroy everything and everyone, sparing no man and woman or child, not even the oxen, sheep, camels or donkeys. Their bloodline had been corrupted and couldn't possibly be redeemed. The key word here is: Genetic Manipulation.
But this was after the flood, you say? "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that..." Yes, their spirits remained upon the earth in order to test mankind again in order to fulfill His will. The term used in reference to their spirits was Rephaim (root wood Rapha: Strong's Hebrew 7496) the spirits of the dead. And today we see the onslaught of Transhumanism, the merging of man with machine, in order to achieve the original lie of Satan, where he appeared to Eve as a serpent and promised her:
"Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."With these and other deviations from Scripture, many in the faith-based community have been proclaiming a refusal to spend any money on Hollywood’s Noah fallacy over these and other inaccuracies, and its directed focus on parts of the story that depict Noah in a negative way, instead of the good. The film has even been banned in some Middle Eastern countries, including Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, who are refusing to release it. Muslims revere Noah as a prophet and some consider using images of sacred figures sacrilegious, especially in such a contemptible manner.
Actor Russell Crowe appeared on Good Morning America, calling the criticism of religious groups "absolute stupidity." Russell is clearly proud of his latest role, as he said his portrayal of the pre-Flood Patriarch will go against the grain of common belief. Here is what he had to say in another recent interview:
"The funny thing with people, they consider Noah to be a benevolent figure because he looked after the animals: 'Awww, Noah. Noah and the animals.'" Crowe said. "It's like, are you kidding me? This is the dude that stood by and watched the entire population of the planet perish. He's not benevolent. He's not even nice. At one point in the story his son says, 'I thought you were chosen because you were good?' And he goes, 'I was chosen because I can get the job done, mate.' So, I think people are going to be―judging from where their questions come from―I think they're going to be quite surprised what Noah actually really means; what it means to be in that position." ― Russell CroweI think Russell Crowe, if he is going to portray one of the greatest patriarchs of the Bible―a man chosen by God to fulfill His will―needs to be reminded of what the Word of God actually says, that "Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God."
Darren Aronofsky, the director of Noah, called the film "the least biblical film ever made." This statement comes from the man who is behind such horrendous, demonic filth as Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, and Black Swan. To The New Yorker, via Digital Spy, director Darren Aronofsky said of his most recent film:
"'Noah' is the least biblical film ever made. I don't give a f**k about the test scores. My films are outside the scores." ― Darren Aronofsky
Matthew 7:16 alerts us that we shall know them by their fruits. What kind of fruit is this film and the people associated with it bearing?
Glenn Beck is encouraging church groups to shun the movie, which he called "dangerous," and said that he hopes the film is a "massive failure."
"I haven’t seen it nor will I, because it’s a slap in the face," Beck said. He read lengthy portions of The Hollywood Reporter’s film review then pronounced his opinion that the movie was "hostile to God" and it teaches "planet over man."
An Alternative:
Produced by evangelist and Christian filmmaker, Ray Comfort of Living Waters Ministries, who created the award-winning films 180 and Evolution vs. God, there is another movie out called Noah and the Last Days, and it is free to watch online.
In noting that their Noah movies are very different, Comfort explains why Hollywood's version may be bigger but believes his version is better.
"Hollywood's is listed as 'fantasy,'" Comfort states, "while ours is based on the truth. Theirs is entertainment that will cost you. Ours is life-changing and will be freely available on YouTube." ― Ray ComfortRather than tell the story of Noah and the ark, Comfort's Noah looks at the parallels between Noah's day and ours and gives 10 biblical signs of the last days.
Watch it for yourself:
You can also order a DVD copy of the film here. Mine only cost $5.00! It is a great tool for ministry and evangelism, and you can feel confident in your support of Living Waters Ministries.
Also be sure to listen to Rick Wiles' TruNews interview of Ray Comfort in this 1-hour broadcast from Thursday, March 20, 2014, which centers on the upcoming release of the Hollywood motion picture, Noah.
In the first half of the broadcast, Ray Comfort shares why he strongly opposes the film and why he believes that the movie’s vast acceptance among Christians is just another sign of the end times―a topic covered in his film, Noah and the Last Days. Later in the program, media consultant and Christian film producer, Phil Cooke, presents his case as to why he believes Christians should embrace the film and Hollywood in general. In my opinion, Mr. Cooke makes a very poor case as a Hollywood apologist.

Make up your own mind, but the fallen Babylonian system of entertainment―which has become a cheap substitute for real joy in Christ Jesus―won't get one more cent of my money. I will no longer pay them to blaspheme God's name and to distort the true intent of His divinely-inspired Word, He who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.
Because as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Ladies and gentlemen, we are living in those days. We are on borrowed time, and save for God's grace and mercy alone, judgment is held off but a moment longer. Repent and be saved. This may be your final warning.
If you were to die tonight, do you know where you will spend eternity? What shall it profit you to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
The Ark is still open, and waiting for you to enter in...
