Tireside Chat Vol. 5: Who is in your Mutual Assistance Group (MAG)?

America the Battlefield

In today’s Tireside Chat, I address the importance of forming and growing your Mutual Assistance Group (MAG) by cultivating relationships with your neighbors and people in your local community, getting to KNOW them, learning about their skill sets, resources, knowledge, experience, what they bring to the table, training with them, and addressing shared needs or challenges.

More importantly, will they be there when you NEED them? Can you depend on them to be an asset in your MAG, and not a liability?

Some important reasons to cultivate a MAG:

- Community-based organization
- Establish a communication plan during power, internet, or cell phone outages
- Securing life and property from gang or mob riots or other violent or destructive activity
- Preparing for emergencies or adverse weather events
- Emergency/non-emergency activation
- Search and rescue after natural disasters
- Readiness drills and training
- Team building opportunities
- Benefits of bartering and trade
- Food, water and first-aid prepping
- Boosting morale and community culture/involvement
- Operational Security (OPSEC) requirements

What are your thoughts on this subject? Please share your views, insight, tips, and experiences regarding your MAG in the comments. And, if you enjoy my work, please like, share, and subscribe to my channels. Your help in this endeavor is greatly appreciated!
